Glass Information

As we have our own CNC machinery at our Norwich based Factory, we are able to produce glass pieces to your specification.
This can either be done through illustrations drawn by hand, templates or CAD drawings (saved in any file format).

As with all types of manufacturing, there are limitations and restrictions as to what can be made, which stem from different processes that take place on the glass, and the limitations of the glass thickness itself.
We stock sheets of glass with a general size of 3210mm x 2250mm in every glass thickness, so accessibility within your home is usually the limiting factor when deciding just how big you would like your glass to be.
There are several different types of glass, each with very different effects on the finished piece, which can be taken into consideration.
For more information on different glass types, please see our Glass Types page.

We recommend the use of Low-Iron glass for any piece which will be backed in a colour, or when clarity of the glass is desired.
The use of Float or Clear glass can be used when either very dark or when no painted colour is intended for the finished piece. This glass however is cheaper than Low-Iron, but does have draw backs such as a strong green tint and dark polished edges.
Cut-outs in the glass are made possible by our CNC machinary, giving you flexibility when designing your glass. There are a few limitations to what can be physically achieved, but most of these can be overcome with work arounds at the design stage. For further information please see our Technical Information page, or contact us using the Enquiry Form or Telephone.
We realise Colour is another very important decision in your design, so to accomodate for this, we offer both a standard colour range, or a colour matching service, so almost any colour is avaliable for your glass.
