Info on this Product

All information regarding fire resistant / rated glass on this page can only be considered valid if the glass has been glazed to the manufacturers guidelines found in the relevant product certification.

We offer a range of different Fire Rated Glass (also known as Fire Resistant Glass) products each with varying levels of protection. The protection these glass products provide is defined by two properties:

Integrity (Measured in Minutes) defines how long the glass will give structural resistance in relation to the application and passage of flame and smoke to the glass.

Insulation (Measured in Minutes) defines the resistance to the passage of heat through the glass.

Our website calculates available delivery dates based on the amount of time required to manufacture your order.

Deliveries take place using third party courier delivery services. Once we have completed manufacturing your order, we dispatch your order in one of the following ways depending on the option you have selected at the Delivery stage:

Tuffnells (Boxed)

Orders leave us on the working day prior to your selected delivery date in suitable glass packaging.

Tracking information along with contact details for the courier company are provided on the evening that the order is dispatched. Once an order has been dispatched and is in the courier's possession, any changes to delivery arrangements should be made with them directly.

If you are unable to be present during delivery and the item ordered does not require additional help for unloading (this is prompted and confirmed during the order process), a note for the courier can be left in both the Shopping Cart message box and as a note on the Door of the delivery address.

Tuffnells Service Options

Q. Which Thickness and Type of glass do i need?

A. For all Fire Glass products, the specification of the glass type and thickness that should be used must be determined by the local building authority. This is not something we can advise on.

Q. Is the Glass Toughened?

A. Fire Glass is not toughened by design. This is due to the Laminate Interlayers or Wire incorporated in to the glass itself to provide its Fire Resistant properties.

Q. Are all of the edges safe?

A. Fire Glass comes with a range of edges based on the type selected. All wired products have sharp edges and must be handled with more care than all other types of Fire Glass, which feature foil taped edges.

Q. What are "Dubbed Corners" and do i need them?

Q. I require glass made to an irregular shape, how can i order this?

A. For more complex shapes, the best method is to produce a template in order for us to replicate the design in glass. For more information on this, see our Glass to Template page:
