We offer 5 Axis CNC Water Jet Cutting enabling us to process almost any material up to a thickness of 200mm.
No Minimum quantity requirement, we can accommodate orders of one off bespoke parts to large volume production.
We have had an Intermac Primus 322 with a 5 Axis head installed, allowing us to produce a wider range of complex shapes and profiles to a greater accuracy in shorter processing times, in comparison with traditional 3 Axis machines.
Primarily we have had this machine installed to provide waterjet cut glass, but we are offering its services for use with any material required.
Waterjet Cutting enables the working of materials without producing Heat Affected Zones, providing greater quality of finished products.
The Intermac Primus waterjet is one of the few machines capable of cutting multi-layer carbon fiber without causing de-lamination.

Jet Performance Control
This feature offers greater accuracy as the machine head is able to adjust its angle to compensate for the inaccuracies (Kurf Deviation / Tapered Edges) commonly found on 3 Axis machined parts.
As this feature also improves edge quality, this can eliminate the need for secondary processing in many applications and materials.
5 Axis Head
Traditionally Waterjet machines have been manufactured with 3 Axis heads, providing Y (Forward / Backward), X (Left/Right) and Z (Raise / Lower) movements which enables the production of 2D CAD parts. However the latest generation of Waterjets are capable of having 5 Axis controlled heads adding C (360 degree rotation around Z) and A (tilting of cutting head enabling angled machining) allowing for greater accuracy from 2D designs and the introduction of 3D designed parts.
This opens up greater possibilities for complex shapes and parts in any material.
Nesting (Material usage Optimization)
Nesting allows us to machine the maximum quantity of parts from the least amount of material.
2D & 3D CAD Capabilities
We can accept both 2D and 3D CAD drawings in almost any format such as .dxf and .dwg. for processing customer specified parts. If however a CAD drawing isn't available we are happy to work from diagrams or templates.
Our CNC Glass Cutting table has a laser scanner capable of producing CAD drawings automatically from templates made from many materials.
